If you’re a developer tapped into the Samsung ecosystem, we’ve got big news to share with you today. We’re thrilled to announce the NDEV Early Access program, and it really is designed with you in mind. As an extension of Nuance’s successful NDEV Mobile developer program – consisting of over 17,000 developers – attendees of the Samsung Developer Conference now have early access to new NDEV features and pricing promotions for mobile apps across the Samsung device ecosystem, including the Android GALAXY and Samsung Smart TV device lineup.

So, what does it mean for you?

In addition to the robust speech recognition and text-to-speech capabilities across more than 40 languages and 61 voices for text-to-speech that NDEV is known for, new features as part of the Early Access program include:

  • Custom Vocabularies: Different apps have different needs, with an entirely unique set of words and phrases they must hear and understand.  You can now create your own customized vocabularies that create a truly unique experience for your apps – whether it’s a vocabulary tailored to music, video, games, education, news and content, health and fitness, product names and brands, and many others.
  • Expanded Support for Samsung TV Apps:  Nuance’s NDEV program gives you access to language models specifically optimized for the second-screen TV app experience. And today we’re expanding that support for Samsung developers, providing access to four additional languages: French, Italian, German and Spanish.
  • Universal Access:  As a Samsung mobile developer you’ll have  one million free transactions per month (per  developer) – giving you even more flexibility and support to bring innovative ideas to market.

How do you sign up?

Signing up is easy! Swing by and see us at Booth 502 to get your promo code and engage with us live and in-person. And in the meantime, you can check out more info here.

First there was CICS / IMS pseudo conversational screen processing then there was Windows / Web form and page designs. Conversational design is an art that has been with computer since the 1970s. CICS conversational design is implementable into NDEV but the visual Windows / Web design began as a visual conversation and is absolutely not suitable as a mindset or idea for further NDEV works. I advice Samsung (or Lenovo) to stay away from merging visual paradigm and conversational paradigm. Best NDEV devices will be virtually free from any visual elements. My CICS conversational paradigm is the best approach to NDEV, visual elements must be avoided at all costs. Please contact me, jamesapple, for the next step in human conversational systems using NDEV, or other platforms.
