Last week, we took part in the Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco, CA. We had a blast speaking one-on-one with up-and-coming developers and learning what it is that everyone wants from their tech devices.
The key takeaway of the event was the increasing importance of developing an intuitive user interface (or UI) across all forms of devices which enables easy access to a growing set of features, capabilities, and apps. There is no one size fits all – all of the innovations we heard about at the conference will require a UI which accommodates them – this being particularly important as smaller devices like smartphones, tablets and wearables gain traction.
So where do we fit in? After speaking with these developers, it became clear to us that now more than ever voice recognition technology as a mainstream UI is fundamental to the evolution of mobile, TV, wearables, and much more. Our VP of Nuance Mobile Products, Aaron Sheedy, spoke to the future of voice on devices, showing how it is integral in the relationship between humans and technology no matter how big or small. Leveraging voice as the means of control gives developers the opportunity to design their app without as much regard for form factor limitations (i.e. screen size), and allows them to design increasingly robust solutions with multiple layers – and we’re putting our technology in the hands of developers to spur app-centric innovation.
With our NDEV Mobile program, we’re dedicated to giving developers the chance to make their app, idea, or innovation a truly unique user experience to help them stand out from all the clutter.
