Swype for iOS 8 goes global: Now ft. NEW languages and intuitive Emoji support! :-)

You asked, we listened! We’ve just added 16 of the most-requested new languages, making the Swype keyboard available on a much more global scale. You and your friends can now also text with Emoji – perfect for when you really want to illustrate the point you’re trying to make.

We’re thrilled to announce that Swype has added support for a stunning 16 new languages! Why does this matter? Well, now users from Brazil to India can enjoy Swype on their iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches – their way, whenever they’d like!

The new languages include: Czech, Danish, Dutch, UK English, Finnish, Greek, Hinglish, Hungarian, Irish, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Swedish, and Turkish.

Ever find yourself envious of those friends that have the perfect Emoji at the ready no matter what the topic? Swype away your fears! This latest update also includes intuitive Emoji support that allows users to enter Emoji as they type or Swype. Users of English, French, Italian, German and Spanish now have access to hundreds of Emoji.

These Emoji cover the full range of emotion, so if a user is feeling tenacious, pensive, happy or sad they can let their friends and family know directly via the Swype keyboard. Or, you can choose from a bunch of fun object Emoji, such as a plane if you’re about to take a trip, or even french fries and a hamburger to show what type of food you’re craving. Go on, give it a try!

This update is all about giving users the ability to have more control over their keyboard. In addition to the many new languages and Emoji, users now have the ability to select their keyboard layout. This feature lets users use the keyboard more comfortably. For instance, if a user lives in the United States but speaks German, they can use the more familiar QWERTY keyboard instead of the typical German QWERTZ keyboard.

We’re very happy that we’ve been able to add so many languages to Swype in a short period of time- as adding a new language is no easy task. Since we launched the Swype keyboard on iOS 8 in September, we’ve been seeing a lot of requests for additional language support. This batch of languages addresses most requests that we’ve seen, but we are already hard at work on adding even more languages for the future.

Offering the broadest language support of any keyboard on the App Store, fun and intuitive Emoji support and more personalization options, Swype just keeps getting better. And, our fans have taken notice with more than 2 million people have downloaded Swype for iOS 8 over the past few days. Join the fun and download Swype in the App Store today!

Good to see there’s some activity in Swype, even if it is on the IOS port. Any news on the Android version?

Thank you for your answer ! Keep up with the good work, nothing beats Swype on Android, in terms of speed, accuracy, language support, and I’ve tried many different Keyboards. I’ve been a faithful Swype user for more than two years ! 😀
