Greetings Swypers! In today’s edition of Swype Shortcuts, we’ll share a quick tip to help you get the most of your Swype experience by ensuring that you get the word you want the first time.

In some instances, multiple words can be drawn by following the same path along the keyboard. Think “pot”, “pit,” and “put” as one such example. So how can you make sure that you get the right one?

Easy! You can employ a simple maneuver we call “bouncing” between letters, and it couldn’t be simpler.

So how does it work?

Fortunately with Swype, you don’t need to move from letter to letter along a straight line. Let’s say you’re looking for the word “put.” By avoiding the “i” and “o” on your way to “t”, you can ensure that “put” appears first in the Word Choice List. And thanks to this nifty maneuver, you’ve successfully avoided the beginning of an awkward conversation with your recipient!

“Bouncing” between letters is just one of many awesome tips to help you be the best Swyper you can be! And if you’ve got a tip of your own that you’d like to share, reach out to us on the Swype forum  and let us know!

Talk to you next week!
