Smartphones have become more than simply a communications device – they’re our closest companion providing seemingly on-demand information about the best spots to eat, playing your favorite songs at a whim, giving you directions and reviews about local businesses and more.  In short – a personal assistant in your pocket.  And these interactions are becoming increasingly conversational – a two-way and intelligent dialogue.  In fact, according to our survey, an 83% majority of consumers said that they would prefer at least the option of a conversational dialogue with their personal assistant on their mobile device.

It’s in our nature to crave a more human-like interaction – one that is natural – where technology adapts to us – not the reverse. Nuance’s recent survey also found that 75% of consumers today feel that they are forced to adapt to technology, as opposed to the technology adapting to them. Well, the good news is that Nuance (along with its virtual assistant technology) is changing that and is helping to arm you with the knowledge you want, when you want it, and how you want it.
